Outside

After the ceremony, you’ll have your must-have confetti shot taken against the backdrop of the ceremonial barn. The guests are greeted from the barn with reception drinks which you choose, ranging from Pimms to prosecco and canapés while they mingle in the gorgeous gardens that surround the barn. Lovely open-ended tipis are there for when the weather turns and of course, the bar area which sits in its own little nook off the barn and gardens.

Wedding Breakfast

Catering at Cissbury barns can be done in lots of different ways: a sit down 2 or 3-course meal, BBQs, buffets or casual sharing feasts. Options of either long tables (sometimes known as refectory tables) or round tables.

There are pros and cons for both.

With long tables, they can have a more impactful centrepiece, with plenty of flowers and linen runners, filled with flickering candles to feel romantic. Not only are these super aesthetically stunning, but they are also great for optimising the space in a room. The downside is that your guests most probably won’t have the opportunity to talk to as many people.

Round tables are more traditional and mingling won’t be a problem for your guests. With the option to seat between 8-12 per table, socialising with a group won’t be a problem. The downside is the space, it’s a lot trickier to fit as many people into space on round tables. So, if you’re tight on space, it may be worth looking into long tables. Cissbury has both on offer for you. Most commonly, the top table is a long table that sits in the middle and the rest of the barn is filled with round tables.

Sussex is a great place to have a wedding. There are many stunning venues to choose from, each with its own unique charm. Whether you’re looking for an intimate venue with a country house feel, or a grand setting with spectacular views, Sussex has it all.
