Julia and Stephen’s floral wedding was full of their favourite things. Bright colours and flowers that took full advantage of the gorgeous summer vibes. So happy to have been a part of telling their story!

Let me tell you a little bit about this beautiful couple and the moment they shared. Their venue was a private estate in Lindfield and oh my the setting was gorgeous! A tiered garden with a secluded rose garden was the perfect place to serve reception drinks. Here, they spent time laughing, drinking cocktails and playing games with their guests.

Floral Wedding Styling

Bright florals are a summertime staple. In the case of this particular design, they’re featured in a bright yellow, pink and orange colour palette that complements the modern aesthetic of Julia & Stephen’s theme. For the reception drinks, we created frozen flowers in their ice cubes to give a touch of colour to the drinks. The tables were set up with the most gorgeous selection of crockery and glassware from Whitehouse Crockery. They opted for Megan glassware, Elisabeth tumblers, and crockery with gold touches. It looked beautiful.

Summer wedding menus

To serve the food, we developed custom perspex boxes designed to serve the guests while also providing an elegant way to present our dishes. For us, we wanted to create this to fit with their theme and in their words. ‘Absolutely incredible. We presented the idea to them when they came for their tasting and they were absolutely blown away!

Summer Wedding Food:

They opted for sharing-style food. Smaller portions of more dishes for guests to pick and try.

Starters:

  • Smoked cheddar and leek tart, crispy poached egg
  • Goats cheese croquettes, beetroots and shallots
  • Potted smoked mackerel, sour dough crostinis, herb salad

Mains:

  • Beef fillet wellington, onion, mushrooms and port jus with a puff pastry lid
  • Chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham with lemon and thyme butter sauce. 
  • Butternut squash, wild mushroom and lentil wellington: A vegetarian option using seasonal ingredients

Sides of:

  • Dauphinoise potatoes
  • honey and mustard roasted root vegetables
  • Mixed leaf salad, carrots, onion and peppers – dressing- olive oil, mustard, milk, balsamic, veg stock and salt
  • Wild rice
  • Creamed spinach and leeks

Desserts:

  • Eton mess – meringue, cream, summer fruits 
  • Chocolate mousse served with honeycomb

A Summer-set Bar:

The taste bar team worked the bar for the day, serving up the couple’s favourite cocktails. Cuba Libra, Tequila Sunrise, Le Gurk and Mosco Mules were flowing and the party kept on until the early hours of the morning!
